Stronger Families Sessions: "Attendance Matters" Presentation and Addictions and Teen Drug Use

The “Attendance Matters” Presentation will review the importance of regular school attendance for children in elementary, middle and high school. The presentation will highlight how consistent attendance is essential for building a strong academic foundation, developing social skills, and fostering a sense of belonging within a school community. In our upcoming session, we will be joined by Archie Lillico, Attendance Officer at Parkland School Division, who will give parents practical strategies for overcoming barriers to attendance… with evidence-based insights and resources, this presentation empowers parents in actively supporting their child’s education and well-being.

**Addictions and Teen Drug Use - Nov 28th at CFE**  


For National Addictions Week, the division is offering a workshop on Addictions and Teen Drug Use. In this workshop attendees will learn an overview of the popular drugs/trends, be taught to identify signs of substance abuse, learn about prevention and other important information. In our upcoming session, we will be joined by Lisa Kimmerly, a Mobile Substance Use Therapist with Alberta Health Services. Here's the link to register and get more information.
